“The show must go on,” is an expression often heard at the theatre, but it could just as easily be said on a construction site, where, summer or winter, the work must go on.
While construction workers learn how to dress for and work in winter weather, there is one element of their workday that remains unbearable: the bathroom break. Heated portable toilet rentals, however, can make these essential bio breaks more comfortable for your construction crew.
What Are Heated Portable Toilet Rentals?
Heated portable toilet rentals are very similar to regular portable toilets except they are equipped with heaters and/or “blankets” that help keep the cubicle warm enough to keep both users and the porta-potty itself from freezing.
Heaters
Heated portable toilet rentals are designed to operate efficiently in extreme winter conditions. The heating systems are often 3000W forced air systems that run on electricity or propane. Heated porta-potties are often equipped with a circulating fan to distribute warm air throughout the cubicle. Thus, heated portable toilet rentals can maintain an interior temperature of close to 20°C even when the outside temperature drops below -40°C.
Blankets
Some heated portable toilet rental companies cover the sides, roof and/or door of their units with tailored insulation blankets to help keep the heat inside and the cold outside.
What’s Needed for a Heated Portable Toilet Rental?
Your heated portable toilet should be placed on a flat spot that has enough space around it for easy access. If your rental is heated by electricity, you will probably require a 110V, 15AMP power outlet near by.
Your porta-potty will obviously contain a toilet, but you can request extra amenities such as a urinal, a hand sanitizer dispenser, lighting, or mirrors.
You or your rental company will need to supply toilet paper and deodorizing chemicals called "blue." Deodorizers, urinal cakes, and toilet seat covers will enhance your construction crew’s porta-potty experiences.
Maintaining Your Heated Portable Toilet Rental
Regular cleaning, waste removal, and restocking supplies are important parts of maintaining a heated portable toilet rental on your construction site. Your portable toilet rental company will remove waste, but they may not provide other maintenance services. If they do not, you will require cleaning supplies and someone to clean and sanitize the toilet and cubicle. Cleaning supplies include disinfectants, toilet bowl cleaners, brushes, buckets, sponges, and the like. "Blue" is also required to control odors and break down waste.
